Mansion 26 is the kind of Pasadena filming location that feels tucked into its own old-world pocket. The English Tudor Revival house sits within steep, terraced gardens, so the rough stone walls, half-timbered gables and leaded glass are framed by greenery from almost every angle. Inside, the rooms keep that period mood going with dark wood, patterned finishes and richly dressed Victorian character, while the grounds add layered paths, patios, water features and a kidney-shaped pool that give productions plenty of ways to move through the property.

Period Rooms With Real Atmosphere

The main salon is the room that immediately gives the house its scale. A high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams rises over the grand piano, carved furniture, layered rugs and ornate chandelier, so the space already has a strong visual point of view before anything is dressed. Tall leaded windows look out to the garden and bring in lateral daylight, with smaller windows on the neighboring wall adding cross-light. The trees outside break that light up during the day, which gives the room a softer, shifting quality on camera. For filming, the salon works especially well when you need a complete period environment that can hold wide shots, seated coverage and elevated angles across the piano or window bench. When the daylight changes, the chandelier and wall sconces still sit naturally in frame as practicals. The nearby dining room brings the ceiling lower, with beams, a long timber table and red upholstered chairs, while the wood-paneled office feels tighter and more private, with diamond-pane windows, built-in cabinetry and a large desk that can easily play as a study or confidential meeting room.

Terraced Gardens, Pool Views and Storybook Exteriors

The exterior has a very clear sense of discovery. The house looks down over a freeform kidney-shaped pool, framed by clipped hedges, stone retaining walls and mature trees. Water jets arc into the pool from both sides, adding movement in the lower garden, and the stone steps rising toward the gabled rear elevation create a strong pool-to-house reveal for walk-ups, tracking shots or establishing moments. Each level of the garden has its own feel without losing the overall character of the estate. Narrow brick walks pass trimmed borders and rose planting, while rough stone paths move into denser foliage that feels more hidden and lush. A pond with a sculptural frog, a freestanding fountain and a circular brick court can each become their own shot area. Higher terraces look down through the canopy toward the pool. Open areas get brighter overhead light, while the mature trees create dappled shade along the paths. The furnished slate patio is one of the more comfortable places to work, with a broader footprint and umbrellas that help soften the space.

A Production Layout With Multiple Routes

One of the useful things about this property is that the movement is not just front door to backyard. A stone-arched entry wrapped in vivid bougainvillea leads to a sheltered porch, and a small patio connects directly off the kitchen. Around the estate, brick stairs, stone steps and hedge-lined walks tie together the pool, pond, lawn and dining terraces, so a scene can travel through several looks without feeling like it is repeating the same path. For a large Pasadena estate shoot, productions can plan arrival and access while coordinating permits with the Pasadena film permit office. Support spaces include a compact gym, a wood-lined sauna and a bathroom. The garage has the feel of a dressed vintage motoring workshop, with classic cars, automotive signs, tools and overhead door access, although the vehicles and equipment take up much of the floor. The broad furnished patios offer more practical crew room than the narrow garden paths, and the large lawn provides another open staging area away from the pool terraces.
