Mid-Century Masonry on the Slope
The architecture is rare and specific: Frank Lloyd Wright designed Eagle Feather in 1940, and the completed elements, including the gatehouse and Eleanor's Retreat, were overseen by Wright protégé John Lautner. Heavy concrete walls embedded with irregular red, gray and ochre stones give the structures a rough, grounded presence for gatherings centered on architectural character. The lower building presents a long, single-story face broken into repeating stone bays beneath a shallow roofline, while higher on the property, concrete stairs follow a substantial masonry wall to a roofless stone platform and tall rectangular tower.
Pond, Open Fields and Malibu Backcountry
Around the buildings, the land is dry, rolling and open, with chaparral, mature trees and exposed reddish rock shaping the experience. Dirt tracks connect clearings, the pond, the lower buildings and the hilltop structure, giving an event a natural progression through the property. At the pond, trees, planted banks and bare earth create a quieter, more enclosed atmosphere, while higher ground opens to ridgelines, a conical mountain beyond and a sculptural pine near the masonry.

The main exterior areas feel connected without all looking the same. Broad level patches near the pond and the long masonry building offer practical gathering areas, while the hilltop platform and open ridges provide hard, direct sun through much of the day.
