Spanish 163 is a Spanish Revival house in Elysian Valley with a low white-stucco profile, deep arched porch and unusually lush garden setting. Its restrained interiors pair exposed timber roof framing with white walls, concrete and wood floors, creating a warm, lived-in look rather than a polished period reproduction. Broad French doors connect the principal rooms to courtyards, trees and planting, giving crews layered indoor-outdoor compositions throughout the house.

Open Living Room And Interior Sightlines

The central living room provides the house’s broadest interior setup. Heavy exposed rafters span the ceiling, while polished concrete flooring leaves a clean central area around a low wood table and neutral sofa. A blocky white fireplace forms a strong frontal feature, flanked by narrow windows and a built-in window seat. A ceiling-mounted projector is integrated between the rafters. Multiple glazed doors open directly to planted outdoor areas, and a wide interior opening looks through an adjoining wood-floored room. Those connections support deep shots from one room into the next, reverse angles toward the garden and equipment access from more than one side. Mid-century wood furniture and simple upholstery add a bohemian layer without obscuring the Spanish Revival shell.

Kitchen, Bedrooms And Natural Light

The long kitchen has an exposed dark-wood ceiling and a practical galley arrangement built around a central farmhouse table. A stainless range and hood anchor one wall between two windows; open shelving, pale lower cabinets, a deep metal sink and visible cookware keep the room grounded and domestic. French doors at the far end create a direct garden backdrop. The table and frontal cooking wall give commercial, editorial and film crews clear options for food preparation, family dining or lifestyle coverage. Natural light enters strongly from the garden-facing doors and broad openings, producing bright thresholds and defined patches across the floors. The living room can be scheduled for its strongest daylight when sun reaches the courtyard, while tree-filtered side doors provide softer alternatives as it moves. The kitchen receives cross-light from its windows and open garden end. Two bedrooms offer different textures: one has white-painted rafters and bunk beds, while the larger room combines white roof trusses, a skylight, a worn concrete floor and a wide opening onto dense greenery.

Garden And Pool Filming

Outside, the house faces a deep arched porch with built-in stucco benches. Its flat parapet, rounded opening and white textured finish read immediately as pared-back Spanish Revival. The porch frames clean views into the living room, while French doors on either side allow movement between interior and garden without forcing every setup through one entrance. The grounds are informal and established. Olive-like trees cast broken shade over earthen paths, weathered outdoor tables and seating pockets. Lavender-toned planting, rosemary-like shrubs, terracotta pots and mature branches create a Mediterranean garden character. A long, narrow rectangular pool runs through the planting with slim aged coping and a naturally weathered surface, giving the house a secluded retreat look on camera. For shoot-day arrival, nearby parking facilities can accommodate crew vehicles, and productions can coordinate filming permits with FilmLA before staging. Paths connect the pool, porch, kitchen doors and side courtyards, allowing exterior coverage to shift between full sun, open shade and dense tree cover as the day changes.
