Theatre 20 is an event venue in Echo Park where a working black-box theatre meets bar, banquette, private lounge and covered patio areas. The layout feels most natural when a corporate event needs a central stage moment, when a private party wants a club-like edge, or when a product launch benefits from a stage and adjoining covered outdoor space.

A Working Black-Box Theatre Core

At the center of Theatre 20 is the main theatre: a working black-box room with black walls, a broad performance floor and a raised stage. A high open ceiling carries truss, lighting instruments, cabling and suspended speaker arrays, with exposed rigging and disco balls already in place. Black curtains close the rear of the stage, and the smaller curtained stage adds another performance-focused area within the venue.

Bar, Banquettes and Private Lounges

The long dark-stained wood bar sits beneath illuminated letter-board menus, with bottle shelves, taps and point-of-sale stations behind it. Teal upholstered banquettes wrap parts of the space, and the square parquet dance floor warms the surrounding tile and concrete. Enclosed private lounges bring in gray walls, dark tile, wall-mounted screens, compact bars and blue-lit under-counter refrigerators for a more intimate secondary setting.

Covered Patio with a Brighter Counterpoint

The large tented patio opens the property to daylight, stretching between a vivid blue mural wall and vine-screened fencing. Artificial turf, concrete paths, long red benches, festoon bulbs beneath the canopy and a small platform at one end give the patio its own character for a gathering. A separate covered passage with black walls, concrete flooring and more bench seating adds another sheltered area connected to the venue.

Urban Theatre Arrival

From the street, Theatre 20 has the look of an established urban theatre, with a projecting marquee, poster-filled display cases, chunky stone-faced piers, metal awnings and an arched side door. Inside, narrow tiled corridors, poster-covered walls and a small ticket window keep the theatre-club atmosphere intact as guests move between stage, bar, banquettes, lounges and patio.
